It has a purifying effect. The sculptural leaves of the Philodendron grow hugging the great trees of the tropical rainforests of America. Philodendron plants are a metaphor for the purest love. The love that is built on hugs and sincere affection. Its tropical origin, its colour and the beauty of its leaves inspired The Dream of Elma to create a wedding photo shoot of tropical background. A really inspiring work for bohemian and youthful brides who want to get away from the traditional bridal idea.
Philodendron inspired me to create a tropical wedding dress. A design made up of a dress and a jacket. The entire design is made of cotton embroidered tulle from the Edwardian era, about 1920, in silver gray and off-white.

The flounce of the lower part is made with several layers of tulle of different thickness, hardness and tones. The base of the dress is crepe, combined with a 100% cotton guipure that is cut and shaped. It is a separated piece that provides personality to the outfit.

The Philodendron dress recalls tropical essence. Pure inspiration for a bohemian, fresh, youthful and fun bride who is planning a wedding either on the beach or on a farm. The outcome is a design full off texture that simulates vegetation. In addition, it blends with nature to end up becoming another element of the beautiful natural environment.
